Puttur: Armed robbers tie up mother, son; steal cash, gold ornaments

In a case of robbery reported from Paduvanooru village, miscreants broke into the farmhouse of a former Gram Panchayat member and decamped with Rs 40,000 cash and 150 grams of gold ornaments after tying up the house residents.
The farmhouse belonging to Guruprasad Rai Kudkpadi is located at a secluded place. The gang of robbers, brandishing knives reportedly barged into the house at around 2 am on Wednesday, and tied up Guruprasad and his mother. The robbers then ransacked through the entire house and decamped with the valuables.
During the robbery they even threw away Guruprasad’s bike key as well as his mobile into the water. The also damaged the bike’s fuel pipe.
The robbers had covered their faces by wearing monkey caps and also wore hand gloves. Police suspect that the robbery is the handiwork of persons who had knowledge of the house surroundings.
It is also gathered that one of worker employed by Guruprasad had recently quit the job.
Police alongwith forensic squad visited the spot and conducted investigation.
