Puttur: A 12-year-old boy thwarted an attempted kidnapping by biting the kidnapper’s hand as they tried to drive away with him near Laxmi Nagar of Uppinangady.

The incident happened while the boy was returning from the madrasa after submitting online exam papers.

A man who came in an Omni car grabbed the boy’s hand in an attempt to abduct him. The boy then bit the kidnapper’s hand and ran away from the spot.

The boy narrated the whole incident to his family members who informed the police officials.

Police officials have retrieved the footage of the CCTV cameras located nearby. Locals claim that they have received information through social media regarding a gang of child kidnappers being active in the locality.
