Two firefighters were injured when a cat they were rescuing from a well bit them. The incident took place near Tenkila Cross in Puttur.
The injured personnel, Siddharth and Mounesh, were admitted to a government hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, Lakshmi, a local resident, reported that a cat had fallen into her well and the firefighters had arrived to rescue it.
Siddharth and Mounesh descended into the well and found the cat hiding in a hole. When they attempted to capture it, the frightened cat suddenly attacked and bit both officers. The cat held onto one of the firefighters’ hands for nearly seven minutes before they managed to secure it in a rescue bag and bring it to safety.
