Puttur: CM releases Rs 14 lac compensation to kin of deceased killed in road accident

Puttur: Nearly nine months after seven persons were killed in a road accident near Panathur on Kerala border, Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has released Rs 2 lakh compensation each to the next of the kin of the deceased persons.
The deceased identified as Rajesh (38) from Balnadu Chanila Palechchar, his son, Adarsh (14), Sumathi (26), daughter of Narayana from Kunjoor Panja Devasya, Shreyas (13) from Panaje Arlapadavu Ardhamoole, Ravichandra (40) from Kukkundoor, Sesamma alias Jayalaxmi, wife of Vasanth Naik from Kalenjila near Ajjilkallu and bus conductor Shashidhar from Narikombu, Bantwal were agricultural laborers and belonged to poor families.
District in-charge minister S Angara and MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor had put forth a petition to the chief minister as none of the deceased had any life insurance as well as the bus was not covered by insurance.
Considering this as a special case, Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai consented to sanction Rs 14 lakh compensation for the purpose.
