Puttur: A complaint has been filed at the city police station against individuals who obstructed a government doctor’s duty and spread false allegations through a video on social media.
The incident occurred on December 10 when a 29-year-old man, who was brought to the hospital from Punjalkatte, was declared dead. As per protocol, the hospital had informed the police station about the post-mortem.
However, the police arrived only in the afternoon to process the necessary formalities.
Later, during the post-mortem proceedings, some individuals alleged that the doctor, Dr. Shwetha, was delayed in attending to her duty. Despite the doctor explaining that she was attending surgery at the time, the individuals recorded a video accusing her and uploaded it on social media.
The taluk health officer, Dr. Deepak Rai, along with Dr. Shwetha and Dr. Asha Putturaya, filed a complaint regarding the obstruction and false accusations made against the doctor.
