Puttur: Four of family injured in explosion

Puttur: Four persons of a family, including two children, sustained injuries owing to an explosion in Bettampalli, in Puttur rural police station limits, on Thursday evening.

The victims have been identified as Balakrishna, 54, his sister-in-law Vedavathy and her children – Karthik and Monisha.

As per reports, the explosion took place when Balakrishna was preparing crude bombs, meant to kill wild animals destroying their crop at his house. Balakrishna suffered critical injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The other injured were admitted to a Puttur hospital.

Puttur rural police registered a case and investigation is on.
