Puttur gang rape by students: Chargesheet filed

Puttur: The police have filed chargesheet in the court concerning the alleged gang rape of a girl student of a private college in the city by five fellow students.
the accused named in the case are Gurunandan (19) from Bajathur Ganadamane in the taluk, Prajwall (19), resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk, Kishen (19) from Kadambu, Sunil (19) from Aryapu Piligunda in Puttur taluk and Prakhyath (19) from Barimaru Balya in Bantwal taluk.
The chargesheet was filed in the court by the Dinakar Shetty, DSP of the subdivision here, who was also leading the investigation.
The accused have been charged with accompanying the aggrieved girl to a desolate spot in a car where they are said to have gang raped her. Besides, the accused also recorded the rape in cell phone. The incident occurred in the month of March this year.
Later, a part of the video was shared on a social website after differences and misunderstanding grew between the accused students.
A case was registered under the directions of the district superintendent of police and all the five accused were arrested.
