Puttur: Police have got an important clue in the brutal murder of Charan Raj Rai in Perlampady here on Saturday.
Naveen, an eyewitness and a friend of Charan, in his complaint said that Kishore Poojary Kalladka was one of the assailants. Based on the complaint, police have booked Poojary and his accomplices in the case, sources said.
It may be recalled that Charan was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight on June 4. He was one of the accused in the Karthik Merla murder case that took place 3 years ago.
At the time of the attack, Charan was outside his yet-to-be-opened medical shop, arranging for the opening ceremony. Assailants who came on the bike, hacked him to death with swords while he was talking over the phone in front of the shop.
Naveen who was nearby claims that there were three assailants and he recognized Kishore Poojary to be one among them.
