Bettampady: Heavy rains over the past few days have caused landslides at Kottelu near Nidpalli village here blocking an access road.
As a precautionary measure, all traffic on the Pattu-Kaudichcharu road, 200 metres from Kukkupuni, has been stopped.
After the landslide soil and rainwater is being washed away on the road. The lower part of a barrier, built last summer, is at risk of collapsing.
Department of Public Works engineer Pramod, police officials, panchayat officers visited the spot.
