Puttur: Man and woman abused, assaulted by gang of five men at hotel

Puttur: A gang of five men abused and assaulted a man and a woman who were having dinner at a hotel in Puttur on September 20.

The complainant Rajeshwari (36), a resident of Anekal arrived in Puttur on September 18 to get  possession of her car, which was confiscated by Puttur police.

She was accompanied by her colleagues, Shiva, a resident of Kottigeri in Bengaluru and U K Mohammed Arafat, a resident of Ullal.

The three were residing in a lodge in the city. On September 20, when all three were having food in a hotel, a gang of five people, out of the 10 men who were standing outside the lodge approached them and asked their name and address.

They then began abusing the woman and assaulted the man named Shiva who was accompanying her. They also took photographs of the woman and her colleagues from their mobile.
