Puttur: Man arrested for raping endosulfan victim

Puttur: A man was arrested and sent to judicial custody for allegedly raping an endosulfan victim boy in Puttur.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammed Haneef.

It is said that the incident occurred on Friday evening when the victim had gone out for a walk. Upon returning, the family members noticed that he had mud stains on his dress and questioned him.

The victim then revealed that Haneef had sexually assaulted him under the pretext of giving him sugarcane near Mura railway cross. He had also threatened to kill him if he informed anyone else.

The victim’s  father then filed a complaint in the nearby police station and the accused has been arrested.
