Puttur: The police and health department had taken an advocate from Uppinanagady into custody presuming that his travel visit to Delhi in March was to attend the Nizamuddin congregation.
As per sources, his visit to Delhi was for some official work at the Supreme Court and not to attend the convention. He proved this by sharing one of his photos undergoing a COVID-19 infection test at Supreme Court published in a newspaper.
It is learnt that he stayed in Delhi for 12 days and returned by flight to Bengaluru and then reached Uppinangady by bus.
However, he is now kept in the intensive care unit in Mangalore.
Information shared in social media that his visit was linked to Tablighi rise to this confusion.
