Puttur: A man from a different faith has been accused of sexually harassing a woman when she went to a shop to purchase groceries at Puttur.
It is said that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the owner had gone out for tea. The accused working in the shop allegedly harassed the victim.
The woman raised an alarm and he fled from the spot.
Condemning the incident, a large number of members of Hindu organisations gathered at the spot and demanded his arrest.
Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor has demanded stringent action against the accused.
