Puttur: Police officials arrested two notorious inter-state chain snatchers, who were involved in several cases under Vittal and Puttur station limits.
The arrested accused have been identified as Faizal (29), a resident of Bambrana, Kumble, Kasaragod, and Abdul Nizar (19), a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Colony, Sitangoli.
Several theft cases have been registered against Faizal in Ullala, Manjeshwar, Kumble, and Badiyadka Police Stations.
On June 7, the accused snatched a woman’s Mangalsutra while she was returning to her home Konadka in Bettampadi Village from Renja.
A special team led by Udayaravi M. Y. arrested the accused and recovered gold jewellery worth Rs. 50,000, a bike stolen from Badiyadka Police Station, and a Red Royal Enfield bike used for the thefts.
