Following backlash on social media, the signboard at the Taluk Hospital in Puttur asking women to take off their burkhas was removed.
Images of the controversial signboard reportedly displayed at the entrance of an ECG room in the ICU went viral online went viral, sparking widespread discussions and criticism.
The board has been present at the spot for over a year now, and someone took its photograph and shared it online.
As the post gained traction online, the hospital authorities took notice and removed the signboard.
