Puttur: Deeksha Shetty, an SSLC student has gone viral on social media for her ordeal of preparing for the SSLC examination while living in a collapsed house.

Shetty, a resident of Chikkamutnur within Bannur gram panchayat, studies at the Kombettu Government High School.

Due to heavy rains, a part of her house collapsed on June 28. She and her family are afraid that the roof too will cave in soon.

The family has been temporarily shifted to a gram panchayat building.

Deeksha’s father Gopal Shetty is suffering from leg pain and is unable to work. Her mother is a beedi and domestic worker taking care of her husband and children. Deeksha’s brother is also a student.

The damages to their house have made the situation worse for all of them and Deeksha is concerned that this can affect her and her brother’s future.
