Puttur: Three arrested for disruption of I-Day celebrations at Kabaka

Puttur: Three people were arrested by the city police in connection with the disruption caused during Independence Day celebrations at Kabaka here.
The arrested accused have been identified as K Aziz (43), a resident of Vidyapura, Kabaka, Shamir (40), a resident of Mura, Kabaka, and Abdul Rehman (34), a resident of Kodipady village.
They have been arrested on charges of obstruction of the official duty of government servants and under others sections of the IPC.
SDPI workers had allegedly obstructed a procession during Independence Day celebrations organized by Kabaka gram panchayat, as the chariot carried a photo of Veer Savarkar.
As per sources, the SDPI workers insisted on displaying the photo of Tipu Sultan.
