Puttur: Thrilling ‘Pili Gobbu’ event mesmerizes audience

Puttur: The tiger dance performances at the second annual ‘Pili Gobbu’ held in Puttur’s Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple enthralled the audience, leaving them in awe. The event was organized under the patronage of ‘Vijaya Samrat’ and spanned two days, drawing massive crowds.
While some attendees enjoyed the delectable dishes from the food stalls, others were captivated by the fierce tiger dancers roaring on the grand stage. The dancers, dressed in vibrant tiger costumes, showcased impressive acrobatic moves, much to the excitement of the crowd. Despite the afternoon rain, the audience remained enthusiastic and engaged throughout the event. Special attention was paid to maintaining cleanliness at the venue.
Several dignitaries were in attendance, including Sunil Achar of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, former MLA Sanjeev Matandur, DCC Bank Director Shashikumar Rai Balyaottu, Uppinangady Sahasralingeshwara Temple’s former management committee president Karunakar Suvarna, and businessman Harsha Kumar Rai.
Tiger Dance Steals the Show
The event began with a ceremonial opening by Nalin Kumar, former MP, who emphasized the cultural and religious significance behind the ‘Pili Gobbu’ event. He highlighted how the tiger dance has been intertwined with Tulunadu’s devotion to the divine.
The founder and president of Vijaya Samrat, Sahaj Rai Balajja, extended a warm welcome to the guests. The Pili Gobbu Committee president, Umesh Nayak, also gave a formal address, while the event was anchored by teacher Balakrishna P.
Ravi Shetty, a businessman from Qatar and the chief guest, spoke during the inaugural ceremony and stressed the importance of kindness and helping those in need. He encouraged the youth to engage in activities that contribute to the welfare of society.
The event, which beautifully blended culture, devotion, and entertainment, was a grand success.
