In a shocking incident, locals caught two men red-handed, who had forcibly entered the house of a 13-year-old girl to sexually harass her in Kallapu of Karaya village under Beltangady taluk.

The accused, identified as Hasainar (24) and Abbas (30), residents of Koila in Kadaba taluk, were handed over to the police by the vigilant residents.

According to sources, the accused were working in Karaya village for the past three days.  During this time, they frequently visited the victim’s house, under the pretext of drinking water.

On Friday evening, Hasainar had gone to the girl’s house and handed her a piece of paper, asking her to call him on the number mentioned. He then threatened her with her life.

On Saturday, at around 8 pm, Hasainar arrived at the victim’s house with Abbas and entered forcefully. They took the girl to a room inside the house and attempted to sexually assault her. However, the girl and her mother screamed for help, and the neighbours rushed to their rescue. The accused were caught by the locals, who then handed them over to the police.

The police arrested the accused and registered a case under POCSO. They presented the accused before the court for further legal proceedings.
