Puttur: Youth arrested for assaulting woman bus conductor

Puttur: A youth, who assaulted a woman conductor of a KSRTC bus plying on the Mangaluru-Puttur route was arrested.

Puttur women’s police station personnel arrested the accused, identified as Hassan, on charges of assaulting an on-duty woman bus staff.

The incident took place on the evening of February 20 when Vijaya, a woman bus conductor attached to the Puttur division, was on duty.

Hassan was reportedly occupying a seat reserved for persons with disabilities. When he was asked to vacate the seat, Hassan allegedly assaulted the conductor and fled from the place.

Vijaya received medical treatment at a hospital in Puttur for the injuries sustained in the incident.
