Puttur: In an unfortunate event, a neonate admitted at a private hospital here died without responding to treatment. Parents of the neonate have alleged medical negligence by the attending nurse for the death.

Ganesh and Chaitra had rushed their baby who developed health complications to a private hospital in Puttur. The nurse there had administered 3 injections and started nebulizer treatment to remove the chest congestion. But, the nurse ignored the screams of the baby after the treatment started, the family alleged.

Soon, the baby’s movements became sluggish as it gasped for every breath, the parents claimed, after which they took the baby to the nursing counter. There the nurses told them the baby had passed away, the parents said.

The family demanded strict action against the erring nurse for medical negligence.
