CM BS Yediyurappa on June 3, had issued direction to PWD officials to hire engineers to the PWD as there was shortage of engineers in the department.

Now the government has decided temporarily hire 1000 engineers to cover the shortage.

Speaking at the Press conference, Govind Karajola, Deputy CM and PWD Minister of the state, said, “Our government has promoted several senior level engineers of the PWD department. Due to which many junior engineer posts are vacant and in order to cover the shortage of engineers, 700 engineering graduates and 300 diploma engineers will be appointed as training engineers for a period of one year”

Government claims that this will give engineering graduates an opportunity to gain experience of working with the department.

However, even though the job is paid, they will not be recruited in the department
