Raghunandan Srinivas Kamath, owner of Naturals ice cream passed away on May 17 in Mumbai. He was 70.

Kamath, born to a fruit vendor in Mulki, grew up in an environment defined by simplicity and hard work. Assisting his father in the fruit business, he gained invaluable knowledge about fruits that would later play a crucial role in his entrepreneurial pursuits.

At 14, Kamath left his village and moved to Mumbai, the city of dreams. There, he worked at his brother’s South Indian restaurant, earning a modest income. During this time, Raghunandan began to envision a business, aspiring to create a unique product that would set him apart from the competition.

Kamath ventured into the ice cream industry on February 14, 1984. With a team of just four employees and a few basic ingredients—fruit, milk, and sugar—he launched Naturals Ice Cream.
