Shivamogga: As part of his fifth leg of the election campaign in Karnataka, AICC President Rahul Gandhi arrived in Shivamogga and took part in road show. Since the model code of conduct is in force, there existed no banners or flex boards on the road to welcome him.
He addressed party workers at Gopi circle and was accompanied by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara and others. The road show started from Ashoka circle and passed through B.H. Road, Nehru Road and Amir Ahmed circle before culminating at Gopi circle.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to comment on Nirav Modi and his Rs. 11,400 crore PNB scam because Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter works for Nirav Modi’s company, alleged Rahul. He also slammed the Modi-led central government for not fulfilling promises made during the Lok Sabha polls.
Rahul accused BJP of failing to keep its promise given during the Lok Sabha elections of creating 2 crore jobs, giving support price to farmers and crediting Rs. 15 lakh to the bank account of each citizen of the country.
He taunted the central Modi-led government that it could not prevent CBSE question paper leak, “Instead Modi asks students to study well for the exam.”
The Congress chief criticized Modi government and said,” On the one hand, CBSE question papers were leaked and on the other hand, election dates were leaked. This is an example of Modi’s governance.”
