Athani: Congress Ntional president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday sought a clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rs 11,400 crore PNB fraud. Rahul asked Modi how Nirav Modi could take away Rs 11,400 crore from the nation from directly in front of him.

Addressing the the Congress’s ‘Janaashirvaada Yatra’ rally at Athani, Rahul stated: “12th-century social reformer Basavanna, said don’t steal. But, Nirav Modi fled with Rs 11,000 crore…Will there be any action against his crime?…You first influence us to see how did Nirav Modi take cash away directly in front of you. In what capacity can the Finance Ministry permit it?”

The Congress president accused Modi of neglecting to stay faithful to his commitment of making 2 crore employment consistently and bringing back black money. “Modi had made guarantees about business and bringing back black money. Presently, recollect Basavanna’s expressions of ‘nudidante nade’ (walk the talk). Did Modi satisfy any of his promises? At that point what is the importance of taking Basavanna’s name?” Rahul inquired.
