Rahul presents 111 roses for Siddaganga seer

Tumakuru: AICC president Rahul Gandhi visited Siddaganga Mutt on Wednesday and sought blessings from senior seer Shivakumara Swami’s. Rahul also offered a bouquet of 100 red roses and 11 white roses to the diviner, who celebrated his 111th birthday on April 1.
The seer asked Rahul to have prasadam before leaving the Mutt. Junior seer Siddalinga Swami reviewed visits of Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to the Mutt and presented a portrait of Shivakumara Swami to Rahul. He was not scheduled to have food at the temple. However, he consumed pulav, rice, rasam and payasam.
KPCC President G Parameshwara, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge, minister T B Jayachandra, D K Shivakumar, MLA Rafiq Ahmed and MP SP Muddahanumegowda were also present.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit created inconvenience to the other devotees as the police had prohibited them from meeting the seer. The Mutt doors were shut for everybody who wanted to visit. The doors were re-opened after Rahul left at 4.30 pm.
Rahul took out a roadshow which got great reaction in Tumakuru, Hebbur, Kunigal. He tended to at few extends censuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and naming JD(S) as BJP’s B group.
Notwithstanding, at a couple of towns, the roadshow was a flop as there were no individuals. Rahul decided not to address and proceeded with the roadshow.
