Kolar: BJP President Amit Shah on Monday asserted that Congress President Rahul Gandhi met convicted RJD pioneer Lalu Prasad Yadav in Delhi on Monday to look for his help in the 2019 general elections.
“Rahul has comprehended that he can’t win the 2019 general elections without the help of Lalu, who stands convicted for corruption. Rahul needs his (Lalu’s) support in spite of the corruption issue,” Shah said at an open gathering in the mining area of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Kolar region.
Gandhi on Monday met the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.
Lalu Prasad is held up in Birsa Munda Jail in Jharkhand’s Ranchi since December 2017 after his conviction in four fodder scam cases.
He was reclaimed to Ranchi for follow-up treatment from AIIMS after he was announced “fit to travel”.
Naming Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-drove Congress government in Karnataka “corrupt”, Shah said the state’s people are anticipating a change.
“I have been traversing Karnataka throughout the previous couple of months and individuals are sure that they need a change. On May 15, when the votes are tallied, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will unquestionably rise successful,” he said.
While the Congress was relying upon Siddaramaiah for a win, he is “fleeing” starting with one voting public then onto the next, Shah said.
“Siddaramaiah himself is running from Chamundeshwari voting public (in Mysuru region) to Badami (in Bagalkot area), and is certain to lose to his BJP rivals,” the BJP chief said.
