Raichur: A father and son were electrocuted in Dinni village on Thursday night due to a short circuit caused by a tree near their house.

The dead have been identified as Mahesh (47) and Naveen (16).

A live electric wire had stuck to the tree. The family had tied a line to that tree to hang clothes to dry. On Thursday, when it started raining, Mahesh had gone to get the clothes from the line. He died immediately from the electric shock on touching the line.

Mahesh’s son, who went to save his father, touched the line and died.
