Early morning rainfall on Friday disrupted International Yoga Day events in Kashmir, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to lead the celebrations on the banks of the Dal Lake, officials here said.
The main yoga event at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) was scheduled to start at 6:30 am.
However, the event faced disruptions due to moderate to heavy rainfall reported throughout the Valley, making it challenging to hold open-air yoga sessions, officials added.
Heavy rainfall specifically around Dal Lake complicated preparations for the main event led by Prime Minister Modi, raising concerns over the smooth organization of the high-profile celebration.
