Belthangady taluk witnessed a relief from the scorching summer temperatures as heavy rain and hailstorm hit the region on Friday evening, April 7.
According to reports, many areas including Ujire, Mundaje, Dharmasthala, Kokkada, Naravi, Charmadi, Savanalu, and Kadirudya also received a significant amount of rainfall.
The rain comes as a relief to many as the area had been experiencing a severe shortage of groundwater due to the summer heat, which had resulted in panic among farmers.
In most places, the rain turned into hailstorm, causing some damage, including electricity poles being down in a few locations. However, the people are grateful for the much-needed rainfall, which has brought respite from the heat.
