Rain suspends play on day 2 of first Test

Kolkata: Rain forced suspension of play on the second day of the opening Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Edens Gardens here today.
After just 11.5 overs could be bowled yesterday, India started the second day’s proceedings at 17-3 but rain once again came back to interrupt the proceedings when the hosts were 74-5 in 32.5 overs.

India 1st innings: 74-5 in 32.5 overs (Cheteshwar Pujara 47 not out; Suranga Lakmal 3/5, Dasun Shanaka 2/23).
