Ramanagar: Lawyers rally against police, demanding PSI Tanveer’s suspension over alleged false FIR

Lawyers in Ramanagar have initiated protests urging the suspension of Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Tanveer after he allegedly registered a false FIR. The demonstration commenced at the court premises and is slated to extend to the District Collector’s (DC) office.

Reportedly, an FIR has been filed against 40 lawyers at the Aijuru police station in Ramanagara.

Leading the march are prominent figures including Supreme Court Bar Association President Adarsh ​​Agarwal and Bengaluru Parishad President Vishal Raghu.

Amidst heightened tensions, district police have mobilized over 900 personnel to forestall any potential disruptions. One Superintendent of Police (SP) and two Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) have been assigned security duties, along with three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs), 13 Circle Police Inspectors (CPIs), 45 PSIs, 60 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and 700 police constables. Furthermore, three platoons of the District Armed Reserve Force and two platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) Force have been deployed. Additionally, authorities have arranged 40 handycams, 2 drones, and 100 cameras for surveillance purposes.
