Ramanagara: Five students swept away by currents in Cauvery river

Ramanagara: Five students are feared dead after being swept away by currents in the Cauvery River near Mekedatu in Kanakapura taluk on Monday.
It is gathered that the victims, identified as Harshita, Abhishek, Tejas, Varsha, and Sneha, were all engineering students from Bengaluru.
The group, who were on a trip, were enjoying themselves in the river in the afternoon, and they reportedly got caught in a whirlpool.
The bodies are yet to be recovered. Satanur police are leading a search operation.
