Ramanagara: Upset over the defeat of actor-turned-politician Nikhil Kumaraswamy in the Karnataka Assembly elections, JDS Taluk president Rajashekhar resigned from post.

Rajashekhar announced his decision at a press conference here and submitted his resignation letter to district president A Manjunath.

Rajashekhar thanked the leaders and party cadres for their cooperation and added that he will be actively involved in party organization affairs. I am pained by Nikhil’s electoral loss, he said.

Nikhil who had contested from Ramanagara seat in the recent state assembly elections conceded defeat to Congress’ Iqbal Hussain. This happens to be the second electoral loss for Nikhil, the first being in the 2019 elections when he contested from Mandya.
