Ramanagara: In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old youth, identified as Varun, allegedly assaulted a security guard in the Kumbalgodu police station limits, boasting, “Do you know who I am? I’m the DCP’s son, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is my relative.”
The incident took place at Provident Sunworth Apartments in Dodbele. The security guard, Puneeth, became the victim of the assault.
Reportedly, Varun had brought two women to the apartment, and after midnight, he attempted to bring in another guest. However, apartment rules prohibit the entry of guests after midnight, which the guard enforced.
Puneeth, the security guard, reportedly grew suspicious of the women accompanying Varun and imposed the entry restrictions in line with apartment regulations. Despite following the rules, Varun allegedly assaulted Puneeth.
The attack was so severe that Puneeth’s eardrum was damaged, and he has since reported difficulty hearing. He filed a complaint with the police, claiming that Varun’s assault left him with serious injuries. Local residents captured the assault on video, showing Varun beating the guard mercilessly.
The police are investigating the incident.
