A four-year-old girl named Alfiya was severely injured after being attacked by stray dogs late on the night of Tuesday, October 1, in the Islam Pur Mohalla area of Channapatna.
The child was playing in front of her house when a pack of stray dogs attacked her, biting her on the face, arms, and legs. The severely injured girl was rushed to the district hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Second Attack in a Week:
This is the second dog attack on a child in Channapatna within a short span. Four days ago, a similar incident occurred in Mehdinagar, where another small child was attacked by a stray dog. The increasing stray dog menace in Channapatna has sparked public outrage against municipal authorities.
Residents have expressed concern about the rising number of stray dogs in the area, particularly the threat they pose to young children. They have urged authorities to take swift action.
Recently, the district commissioner held a meeting at the Channapatna municipal office, warning that strict measures would be taken if the stray dog menace was not brought under control.
