Bengaluru: Minister D K Shivakumar said that his colleague Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi is his “best friend”.

Addressing the media, Shivakumar said, “Ramesh Jarkiholi is his my friend and I will talk to him. I have been by him through thick and thin,”

Earlier, he held a closed-door meeting with Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara and Karnataka Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao.

It is alleged that Parameshwara and Gundu Rao have requested Shivakumar to bury the hatchet and and put an end to political upheaval in the state.

Shivakumar’s statement is being seen in political circles as an effort to pacify the Jarkiholi brothers, who are demanding the party to stop Shivakumar from interfering in Belagavi district politics.

The brothers have threatened to rebel if their demands, which also includes making Satish Jarkiholi either KPCC president or a deputy chief minister, are not fulfilled at the earliest.
