Bengaluru: Days after Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted asking the media channels to not place Congress representatives on their shows, Congress spokesperson Divya Spandana’s Twitter, Instagram accounts appear deleted, however, her Facebook page is still active.
Two days earlier Divya Spandana aka Ramya who has played a major role in improving Congress’s improved social media game, had tweeted, “Congratulations @nsitharaman on taking charge of a portfolio that was only last held by another woman, Indira Gandhiji in 1970 – makes us womenfolk proud! The GDP not looking great, I’m sure you will do your best to revive the economy. You have our support. Best wishes.”
However, Divya Spandana dismissed rumours of her departure from the national party.
Meanwhile, the media team of the Congress party has remained silent on this issue.
It may be recalled that similar speculation around Spandana’s association with the party was doing the rounds in October 2018, when her Twitter account description had been taken down for a few hours. Her Twitter bio, which had read, “Actor, Former Member of Parliament and currently handles social media and digital communication for Congress,” was removed on 3 October but later added after reports on the change.
The re-posted bio read: “Actor, Former Member of Parliament, currently handling Social Media & Digital Communications for the Congress party & I ❤️ it!”
