Mangaluru: Aditya Rao, the man suspected of planting the bomb at Mangaluru international airport on Monday has reportedly called it as an act of revenge.

Rao, a resident of Manipal surrendered before the Bengaluru Police at around 8 am on Wednesday morning.

It is gathered that Rao during the interrogations said that he planted the bomb as an act of revenge for not securing a job as a security officer at Kempegowda international ariport. Rao it is gathered had applied for the job thrice. Owing to the rejection, he harbored resentment against airport officials and had place bomb hoax calls to Kempegowda International Airport and the Krantivira Sangilli Rayanna (KSR) city railway station in the year 2018. He was arrested later by the Bengaluru police.

Rao was recently released from Chikkaballapura jail whereafter he had taken up a job at a hotel in Mangaluru.

Meanwhile the police have taken Rao to a secret location for further interrogations. They will be grilling him to obtain details about where he purchased the explosives. After the interrogations, he will be handed over to the Mangaluru police.
