Bengaluru: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that the government will fix rates for ambulances carrying COVID-19 infected or dead to prevent them from charging exorbitant rates.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday morning, he said that action will be taken against ambulances that are overcharging.

“Prioritize the use of the 108 ambulances. Private ambulances will have fixed rates soon,” he said.

“A 24X7 helpline has been opened for oxygen and Remdesivir supply. There has been no shortage of oxygen anywhere in the State in the last 48 hours. In the next one week 2,000 modular ICUs will be set up in Bengaluru,” the minister added.
