Thekkatte: Food and Civil Supplies Minister K.H. Muniyappa has assured that neither BPL (Below Poverty Line) nor APL (Above Poverty Line) ration cards will be canceled in the state, including Udupi district. He dismissed recent media reports on the matter as baseless.
Speaking to reporters during the inauguration ceremony for 14 free houses built under the Rajeev Shetty Charitable Trust in Jannadi and Manigere Koraga Colonies, Muniyappa clarified that only eligible individuals will be shifted from the BPL category to APL if they pay income tax or are found to be ineligible. However, no ration card will be canceled, ensuring no inconvenience to genuine BPL cardholders.
Server Issues Resolved
The minister also stated that server-related issues within the department have been resolved, and all processes are functioning smoothly. The revision process follows five guidelines, and after its completion, new ration cards will be issued to eligible applicants.
