In the Ramayana, Ravana is known as the king of Lanka who abducts Sita and thus starts a war.
The Sri Lankan government has now come up with the claim that Ravana was the first to have flown a flying vehicle.
It has claimed that with enough records they will be able to prove it soon.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka claims that Ravana flew an aircraft 5,000 years ago and has decided to conduct research on the technology he used to fly in ancient times.
The Ministry of Tourism and Aviation of Sri Lanka has published an advertisement in newspapers requesting information, documents and books on Ravana. It appealed to the public to help them carry out research on the king and his lost technological heritage.
Former Vice President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Shashi Danatunge, stated that Ravana is the world’s first aviator. We have a lot of records for this. Further studies are being conducted on this. We will prove it in the next 5 years.
