Bengaluru: A Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) marshal caught a person collecting fines from COVID-19 guidelines violators at Jayanagar 1st Block by falsely claiming to be a marshal.

The marshal impostor has been identified as Kiran (19).

“This man Kiran claimed to be a BBMP marshal and had walkie talkie along with a file with BBMP’s name on it. We have handed him over to police at Tilak Nagar police station,” Chief Marshal Rajbir Singh said.

Singh appealed to the public to directly register a complaint with the police if they see any person without marshal’s uniform and ID card collecting fines from the people.
