Red alert: Schools in DK and Udupi to remain closed on July 5

Mangaluru: In view of the Red Alert issued by IMD, the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district administrations have announced a holiday for schools and colleges in the districts for July 5.

Deputy Commissioners, in seperate notifications, ordered the Anganwadis, primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges, including aided as well as private institutions, shall remain closed on July 5.

It is also requested that parents be vigilant and not let the kids near water bodies.

Fishermen have been asked not to venture into the seas. Tourists and residents have been asked not to visit beaches and riverside.

In case of emergencies, the Dakshina Kannada DC asked the residents to contact the control room on 24×7 toll-free number 1077 or 0824-2442590.
