Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested two men on Friday accused of killing former BJP corporator Rekha Kadiresh.
The accused have been identified as Peter and Surya, relatives of Rekha’s husband Kadhiresh.
It is said that the officials were forced to shoot as Peter and Surya attacked a sub inspector and a police constable at the time of their arrest.
Peter and Surya are now admitted to a hospital for treatment and further investigation is on.
It is said that Peter was the mastermind of Rekha’s husband Kadhiresh’s murder. He was married to Kadhiresh’s cousin and Kadhiresh had earlier passed a garbage bill in favor of Peter. However, it was stopped by his wife Rekha.
Rekha had also not helped him build his new house. It is said to be the motive behind her murder. Another accused is also a criminal with several cases registered against him.
Rekha was stabbed at least 17 times while she was returning to her office after distributing food to the needy at around 10.30 am on Thursday.
She was a two-time BJP corporator and resident of the Chalavadipalya ward in the city and also was the second wife of rowdy-sheeter Kadiresh, who was killed in February 2018.
