Release relief fund towards rain-affected areas of Periyaptna: MLA Mahadev to CM

Periyapatna: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who was on his visit to Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts to access the rain-affected areas on Tuesday, had stopped by Periyapatna at the request of Janata Dal (Secular) MLA K Mahadeva to collect information on the rain-affected areas of the taluk.
The legislator in his request letter to CM Bommai stated that around 25,000 acres of farmland surrounding the taluk, growing various crops were damaged. He also stated that around 219 houses were damaged and roads and bridges too had submerged in water.
Mahadeva requested CM Bommai to release the National Disaster Relief Fund and State Disaster Relief Fund with an immediate effect on the relief works.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham, Superintendent of Police R Chethan, Tahsildar Chandramouli, and other officials were present.
