Renault Duster facelift launched in India at Rs.7.99 lakhs

Renault has launched the facelifted version of its Duster SUV in India at an introductory price of Rs.7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The refreshed Duster gets cosmetic upgrades both internally and externally, but mechanically it remains the same. The updated SUV is available in nine variants with additional two new colour options viz., Caspian Blue and Mahogany Brown.
Mr.Venkatram Mamillapalle, CEO & Managing Director of Renault India Operations announced the launch of the new Duster facelift and said, “We have a clear goal of growing the Renault brand in India. Towards this, we are strategically strengthening our product range, expanding our network reach and initiating pioneering measures to ensure customer delight. Duster plays a pivotal role in our product portfolio and has the widest offering in the segment, enabling us to cater to evolving customer needs. We are confident that the new Duster will resonate well with discerning Indian customers.”
The Renault Duster facelift gets powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that power the outgoing pre-facelift model. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder unit producing 105bhp power @ 5600rpm and 142Nm of torque @ 4000rpm. The diesel version runs on a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged motor in two states of tune – 84bhp and 108bhp, developing 200Nm and 245Nm of peak torque respectively. Transmission duties are handled by either a 5-speed manual or a 6-step CVT automatic gearbox on the petrol variants while the diesel-powered Duster comes paired with the choice of a 5-speed Manual, 6-speed Manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox options.
The cosmetic upgrades on the new Duster include a redesigned front bumper, a new chrome-garnished front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a new sculpted bonnet and a higher bonnet line, front and rear skid plates, roof rails, alloys and plastic cladding on the tailgate. The interior comes equipped with an updated MEDIANAV infotainment system, a new steering wheel, rectangular AC vents on the centre console, new trim for the seats, standard safety features including dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist along with ESC and hill-start functionality on the automatic and AWD variants.
In terms of competition, the new Renault Duster facelift will take on the likes of the MG hector, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Maruti S-Cross and the upcoming Kia Seltos.

RxE petrol – Rs.7.99 lakh;
RxS petrol – Rs.9.20 lakh;
RxS (O) petrol CVT – Rs.9.99 lakh;
85PS diesel RxE – Rs.9.30 lakh;
85PS diesel RxS – Rs.9.99 lakh;
110PS diesel RxS – Rs.11.20 lakh;
110PS diesel RxZ – Rs.12.10 lakh;
110PS diesel RxZ AMT – Rs.12.50 lakh;
110PS diesel RxS AWD – Rs.12.50 lakh
