Renowned botanist Dr Gopalakrishna Bhat passes away

Udupi: Renowned botanist and retired professor of botany at Poorna Prajna College (PPC) Dr. Gopalakrishna Bhat passed away at his home in Chitpadi, here on Thursday, April 7. He was 75.
Dr. Bhat had served at PPC for over 30 years teaching botany and conducting plant taxonomy research.
He had published several research papers on the plant life found in Karnataka. His work mainly covers Sedges and Grasses of undivided Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts, Flora of Udupi, and Palms of Karnataka.
