Resident of Sagar becomes the first victim to die of KFD this year

Shivamogga: Hoovamma (58) a resident from Sigemakki village in Sagar taluk, Shivamogga district has become the first victim to die of the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) this year.

She was not vaccinated for the disease due to her age and high blood pressure. She died of fever in a private hospital at Manipal. Her funeral will be held today.

Till now four others have tested positive for the disease.

Senior officials from the health department will be in the village soon.
