MUDA scam: Return land to the Govt, build hospital: MLC H. Vishwanath urges CM Siddaramaiah

MLC H. Vishwanath has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to return the land granted to him back to the government and construct a hospital on the site. Vishwanath argued that this would secure Siddaramaiah’s legacy positively, rather than leaving a lasting impression of corruption.

Speaking at a press conference held in a tent outside the MUDA office in Mysore, Vishwanath criticized the ongoing land scandal and called for it to be handed over to the CBI for investigation. “Your followers are advising you to submit this scandal for a judicial inquiry. There is no benefit from a judicial investigation. This is a scam worth thousands of crores,” he stated.

Vishwanath questioned the CM’s financial logic regarding the alleged Rs 62 crore in question. “How can the Finance Minister talk like this? Why is Siddaramaiah hiding behind excuses? He has transformed from a socialist thinker to someone mired in land deals. Did you ever grant even one site to common people during your tenure?” he asked.

He also brought up the issue of the land purchased by Siddaramaiah’s wife in Devanuru Layout, claiming it belonged to Dalits. “The land originally belonged to a man named Jawar and was later bought by the CM’s brother-in-law and eventually transferred to the CM’s wife’s name in 2010,” Vishwanath alleged.

Targeting Byrati Suresh, Vishwanath called him a “real estate shark” who conducts meetings with police protection and travels by helicopter. “Who are you, Byrati Suresh? Are you a fool or smart? You claim I asked for seven sites. Who is this Byrati? I declared my honesty inside the Vidhana Soudha. Byrati Suresh has fixed a rate of five lakhs for land conversion,” Vishwanath accused.
